Overall objective:

Enhancing the knowledge and capacity of Iranian CSOs to create and implement together with local authorities a sustainable and participatory forest governance and sustainable growth in the Hyrcanian Mixed Forests eco-region.

 

Specific objectives:

SO1. To motivate and support local users of forest resources and forest dwellers to engage in governance and promote sustainable development and growth as stakeholders and stewards of the land.

SO2. To help them organize and form grass-root networks, associations, formal and informal professional collectives and innovative and multi-actor partnerships and schemes of collaboration through dialogue and cooperation.

SO3. To empower local/rural groups with knowledge and resources on sustainable forest practices to improve the livelihoods of forest dwellers while connecting their voices/interests within the local and regional authorities.

SO4. To raise awareness on the role that CSOs play in communities to achieve more transparency and accountability and strengthen democratic land use governance through contribution in policy/decision making.
